Tv Brasil - A New Channel For Culture
Tv Brasil is a general TV channel in Brazil with general programming including News, Reality Shows, Kids TV and Entertainment. The network also broadcasts religious programs, documentaries and live events.
ARTE 1: A New Channel For Culture
ARTE 1 is Brazil's first television station dedicated to dance, popular Brazilian music, classical music, film, literature, theater and opera. The station offers content 24 hours a day and aims to democratize access to culture by making high-quality content available to the public.
It is operated by the Bandeirantes group, which also owns and operates ARTE, the national TV channel. ARTE 1 is expected to attract over 10-million viewers, says its General Director Rogerio Gallo.
Aside from ARTE 1, there are several other channels in the country, some of which are local. These include TV Camara and TV Senado, which transmit the sessions of the Chamber of Representatives and the Federal Senate, respectively.
Another example is Rede Brasil, a general TV channel that is focused on family programming with movies, cartoons and series that people remember. The network is also a major player in the market for sports, with soapboxes imported from Mexico and secondary football tournaments.
However, even though the Brazilian population has been largely resistant to watching TV on their computer or mobile devices, this could be changing. As a result, the government of Brazil will need to invest in broadband Internet access as a way to provide free public TV content. This is especially important given the fact that the majority of the population cannot afford to pay for TV services.
